Conduisez-vous?

"It's time," Jonny said, throwing some sort of sharp, pointy object to Chris, "for you to learn." Chris was caught off guard, though, and the object smacked him violently in the face.

"Ow!"

"Sorry, man," Jonny apologized as he walked over to Chris and picked the object off the ground. This time he simply handed it to Chris, who stopped rubbing his injured cheek to grab it.

Chris hesitantly groaned. "Do I have to?" Jonny nodded. "Do I really have to?" Jonny nodded again. "Are you completely sure that it's absolutely necessary-"

"Chris, you're freaking learning this and that's final!" Jonny barked. Chris blinked a few times, then gave in.

"Fine," he muttered.

A few minutes later they were both outside, Chris still trying to snake his way out.

"Oh, look, these aren't working," he sang as he tried to jam the keys into the car door. "I guess we'll have to call it quits." Jonny narrowed his eyes and walked around the side of the car. He grabbed the keys out of Chris's hand and hit the button to electronically unlock the car.

Jonny opened the door and said, "There," then gave the keys back to Chris and walked back to the passenger side. Chris sighed and reluctantly sat in the car.

"Now, the first thing you want to do is put the key in the ignition," Jonny began.

"Jonathan, I'm not a complete idiot," Chris sneered. "I know how to start a car."

"Really? Because you couldn't even get it unlocked." Chris shot a dirty look at Jonny, then set about putting the key in the ignition. He had a bit of trouble finding it, though, and did not appreciate it when Jonny grabbed the keys from him again and started the car himself.

"You know what, Jon, why don't you just drive the car for me?!" Chris exclaimed, then took a short pause. "Actually, that's not a bad idea." Chris tried to open the car door and escape, but a hand on his thigh stopped him. That and the weird feeling in his stomach when he felt the touch.

"You're not going anywhere," Jonny firmly said, and Chris slowly turned to him. They just stared at each other for a few moments. Jonny's hand was still on Chris's leg. Chris quickly leaned forward, but Jonny pulled back before any sort of contact could be made. "Chris, what are you doing??"

Chris pulled back, too, and he could feel his cheeks getting hot. His eyes were wide with embarrassment and disbelief. He was so sure that that was where all this was leading too, not just Jonny leaving his hand on Chris's leg for a bit longer than perhaps he should have, but just their friendship in general. Apparently, he was wrong.

He gripped the steering wheel as tightly as he could. For a moment, and for the first time in his life, he wished he could drive so that he could just kick Jonny out of the car and speed off by himself. "Uh, let's not tell anyone about this."
